Sarah Polley’s documentary “Stories We Tell” is about her mother and some of the secrets she carried—which may not have been that much of a secret. It looks like a very engaging film and not at all self-indulgent. I can’t wait to see this — it seems a bit like a memoir, but with film as the medium. Given that Sarah Polley is a filmmaker, it’s fitting that she’d share such a memoir-like story via a documentary rather than a book.
